AVID

AVID stands for: Advanced Via Individual Determination
This course equips teachers, and schools with what they need to help students succeed on a path to college and career success. AVID students are enrolled in an academic elective class starting their freshman year and continue taking the elective course throughout their high school career. AVID serves over 250,000 students across the nation helping to achieve their goals. The program places special emphasis on growing student's writing, critical thinking, teamwork, organization, and reading skills. The curriculum focuses on building skills and developing behaviors that lead to success.
